ROUND ROCK, Texas --(Business Wire)-- April 21, 2005 -- Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) is marking Earth Day this year by lowering its cost of recycling and delivering easy-to-use services for businesses and consumers. Underscoring its commitment to make recycling easy and affordable, Dell is announcing a special offer for business customers. For a limited time, Dell will refurbish or re-cycle an unlimited number of old computer systems with no upfront cost provided the technology meets certain specifications(a). Dell's Asset Recovery Services will remove customers' old hardware and refurbish or recycle it consistent with environmental guidelines. Consumer Recycling Cost Reduced Dell also announced that is has reduced the price of computer recycling for any consumer from $15 to $10. Additionally, Dell continues to offer recycling to consumers who purchase new desktop or notebook computers or printers for no charge. Dell's global donation partner, the National Cristina Foundation, continues to offer any U.S. consumer a no charge donation program for used computers. "Customers are finding more and more unwanted computer hardware in spaces that can be better used," said Ken Hashman, vice president of Dell Deployment Services. "We want to meet our customer needs at all stages of the product lifecycle. Dell's operational excellence helps enable us to provide this great service very efficiently. Our goal is to help customers recover value from technology, and ensure that unusable hardware is responsibly recycled."
