Source: http://www.wastenews.com

Remarks: None

July 29 -- Dell Inc. is expanding its Austin, Texas, computer recycling pilot project to the San Francisco Bay area. Residents in San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin Counties will be able to drop off used electronics at no charge. Dell is partnering with Goodwill Industries Inc. to utilize the donation infrastructure to collect obsolete electronics. Residents can drop off unwanted computers and computer equipment for free at Goodwill´s 14 participating locations. Dell and Goodwill partnered on a similar project nine months ago in Austin. The success of that program prompted the company to roll out the pilot project in the San Francisco area. Electronic Partners Corp., a unit of Chasm Industries Inc., will recycle material that cannot be resold. Chasm Industries specializes in electronic asset management and recycling.
